The IIJA includes $55 billion for new funding for water infrastructure. Also included is:<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>$23.4 billion for the Drinking Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Act<\/li>\n<li>An additional $13.8 billion in SRF Authorization<\/li>\n<li>$15 billion for Lead Service Line replacement<\/li>\n<li>$10 billion to address PFAS &#8211; $5 billion through the SRF and $5billion as grants to the small and disadvantaged community grant program<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The IIJA funding is in addition to Commonwealth&#8217;s share of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds. As of this date, we expect $100 &#8211; $175 million in water and sewer infrastructure funding as well as $300 thousand to fund a study exploring expansion of the MWRA system.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Staff will continue to monitor these funds as more information is known, as well as any potential new funds.
